But… why?
Over the past few years, I completely underestimated the power of culture.
I’ve traveled to a bunch of countries with very different mindsets — Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, and more.
And I started to realize something: cultural differences matter. A lot.
What I like about Americans (and Brits, to a lesser extent) is their more rational approach to risk.
Also, here’s a crazy stat: equity fund investing is 100 times bigger in the U.S. and 10 times bigger in the U.K. than in France.
And honestly, if you know anything about the rules and taxes in France, it’s not hard to see why.
I’d rather shoot myself in the foot than start an investment fund in France.
Every single strategy that helped me make +30% per year for the past 3 years — I learned them from American books.
Books that break down what the best investors in the world (like Warren Buffett) actually do.
There’s no real equivalent in France. Not even close.
